To give school children at Dili Elementary School in the remote Dili Village of Xinyi Township, Nantou County, the opportunity to fulfill their basketball dreams, Kuo Pei-Ying, Chairperson of the China Youth Corps Taichung South District Committee, rallied members of the China Youth Corps and employees from six enterprises to passionately donate a day's salary. On the morning of the 24th, they visited Dili Elementary School for a donation ceremony. They hope that these naturally athletic children can represent the nation in international competitions and bring honor to the country in the near future. The Bunun children also performed their traditional eight-part polyphonic singing to express their deep gratitude and joy.
To personally deliver this love to Dili Village, Cao Zhong-You, Director of the Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications; Kuo Kuo-Hui, Chairman of the China Youth Corps Taichung Committee; and Ko Jing-Yi, Chief Executive, all personally attended the donation event. Representatives from the six enterprises supporting the sports development plan for remote communities were also present, including EASY SMART TRANSCEND CO., LTD., Ching-Lien Security, February Dining Business Group, Yung-Sheng Gardening & Landscaping, Jing-Hong Landscape Co., Ltd., and Bai-Gong Construction.
Cao National Scenic Area Director Cao Zhong-You expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Kuo Pei-Ying's dedication to public welfare, emphasizing her ability to care for school children in remote areas, focus on their healthy learning and development, and help them fulfill their basketball dreams. Meanwhile, Kuo Kuo-Hui, Chairman of the Taichung China Youth Corps, shared that during his visit to Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen at the Taichung City Government last week, he specially prepared a basketball for her to sign, which she gladly did. On the 24th, this highly meaningful signed basketball was presented to Dili Elementary School, symbolizing everyone's profound love and care for the children in remote areas of Nantou County.
Ko Jing-Yi noted that he had served in the Xitou and Sun Moon Lake areas of Nantou County for nearly 10 years and had been involved in numerous local development initiatives, fostering deep emotional ties to the region. He thanked Kuo Pei-Ying for extending her charitable efforts across counties, adding that returning to this familiar place today felt exceptionally warm and welcoming.
A donation ceremony followed, with Principal Tseng Hsiao-Ju of Dili Elementary School accepting the contributions on behalf of the school. The donated supplies included 30 basketballs, 30 pairs of basketball shoes, 100 pairs of athletic socks, 5 shoe mold-eliminating and deodorizing devices, and a batch of shelf-stable milk. Principal Tseng Hsiao-Ju expressed the school's gratitude to Kuo Pei-Ying for her tireless efforts over the past few months to gather these valuable resources. She expressed confidence that the students would cherish these gifts, leverage their natural singing and athletic talents, and strive to bring honor to the country.
