Ingredients
・ French bread or Shokupan (raw milk toast)
・ Eggs
・ Milk (ratio of 50g milk per egg)
・ Honey or jam, a pinch of sugar
Cooking Steps
- Whisk the eggs and milk together thoroughly, then add a pinch of salt.
- Dip both sides of the bread until evenly coated, then place in a sealed container and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
- Before cooking, ensure the bread is fully soaked with the egg mixture but still holds its shape without becoming soggy.
- Melt a small amount of butter in a skillet over low heat (high heat will burn the butter easily), then place the soaked bread into the pan.
- Cover with a lid to steam-cook, ensuring the toast is heated and cooked completely through to the center.
- Once both sides are fully cooked, pan-sear without the lid until golden brown.
- Before serving, dust with cinnamon powder or powdered sugar for garnish, and serve with honey to enhance the flavor.
